Is Meghan the attorney for what you need?

Technology, contracts, securities, and intellectual property are all broad areas.

If Meghan’s explanation of her practice areas isn’t clear enough, we invite you to ask if your issue is something she’s knowledgeable about.

Whatever it is, if it’s nerdy or involves technology, Meghan can (probably) help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you charge for your services?

It depends on the services! We use a sliding scale for contract review based on the number of pages, but the typical hourly rate is $200/hr. Most flat-rate projects are based on an estimated hourly rate.

Can you write a Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for my website?

Almost definitely! Meghan writes ToS and Privacy Policies regularly. Each one is unique to the website, making sure your individual needs are met.

Do you have malpractice insurance?

Yes. LLPs are required to have malpractice insurance as a matter of California law. However, if you became a client prior to January 1, 2023, you likely hired Meghan Pratschler as a solo practitioner, and not subject to any malpratice insurance.

Do you file trademarks?

Yes, on occasion. We’ve filed quite a few, but it’s ancillary for clients who have hired Meghan the Attorney for other services or it’s the next step in the best course of action for a client.

Can you handle my litigation?

It’s unlikely. As a small firm, Meghan the Attorney doesn’t usually have the resources to engage in litigation. We can, and occasionally do, send or respond to Cease and Desist letters, write settlement agreements, and engage in negotiations. We also do some TTAB stuff.

Where is your office?

95 Third Street, Second Floor, San Francisco, CA, though all staff work remotely. Please do not come in person unless you have an appointment because it is unlikely that anyone will be present.

Can you file patents?

No. We do not file write or prosecute patents. If you have a patent question, we are more than knowledgeable enough to answer, but do not have any attorneys who have passed the Patent Bar, and therefore we can’t file patents with the USPTO.

Where are you licensed?

Meghan the Attorney is a California LLP. Meghan herself is licensed in California. You can look up the bar number on the Calbar website but I’m happy to provide it upon request.

Why is your website space themed?

We were tired of seeing law firms in my practice areas with fancy downtown skyscrapers and Matrix-inspired designs as their background. Besides, Meghan loves outer space and kind of still wants to be an astronaut.
